What can you do right now, but that 'Future You' will be grateful for?

I'm not someone who gets into New Year resolutions.

However at this time of the year I've seen and read and listened to loads of clever people talking about the opportunity we have to set the course for the 2026.

One of the better tips came through a podcast called DOAC 'Diary of a CEO'. The conversation was around good questions to ask yourself. What I took from it was these three questions.

Firstly, What's a decision you made some time ago, that may have been a little uncomfortable at the time, but you're now grateful for that decision?

It might be choosing a topic to study, starting a business, starting or ending a relationship or making a financial investment.

Secondly, What's a decision you made some time ago, that you're now regretting?

Be careful of this one. It's so easy to spiral into kicking yourself for all the stupid things you've done. This is only uselful if you can forgive yourself and chalk those lousy choices to experience.

Lastly, What decisions can you make right now, that may be uncomfortable, but that 'Future You' will be grateful for?

Regardless of how much time you have on this planet, there are decisions you can make which will add incredible value to the last years of your life. Things like eating better, doing some exercise, enhancing or repairing relationships or starting a new hobby.

Send me a comment on what one or two decisions you've made, and I wish you well for 2026.
