Non-traditional Christmas ideas from a Non-traditional Funeral Director
Here's a few gift idea's to give those you love.
They don't need to cost a penny and they will make their life much easier.
1. Tell them your funeral plan! Let them know if you'd like to buried or cremated, what you'd like your farewell service to look like, what songs you'd prefer and who you'd like to speak.
2. Offer to do something involving physical activity with them. Enjoy a walk, bike ride, day hike or visit to the beach. Enjoying the great outdoors makes you feel better and a little regular exercise will help both the duration and quality of your life.
3. Give someone your undivided attention. One of the best things we can offer those we really care about is our full attention. Ask questions and listen to the answers without preparing your next question (or solution!) If you've never done this before it's harder than you think, but the recipient will love it!
4. Lastly, give someone an experience. This one may cost you money, but rather than buying gifts that will be used a couple of time then thrown out, buy an adventure. My siblings bought me a flight on an old biplane once. What an extraordinary experience that was.
Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Chrsitmas. Let's take care of each other.
